Reliable Water Storage for Tasmanian Homes
In Tasmania, we’re lucky to get decent rainfall, but it doesn’t always come when we need it. That’s why so many households across Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and regional areas are turning to rainwater tanks. Whether you’re trying to keep the garden alive during summer, lower your water bill, or simply have a bit more control over your supply, installing a water tank at home just makes sense.
At Taztanks, we help homeowners like you find the right tank for your space, set it up properly, and get it working the way you want. We supply top-quality tanks built to last in Tasmanian conditions and we don’t just drop them off and disappear. We’re with you from the first conversation to the final bolt.
Why Bother with a Water Tank?
Let’s be honest, mains water isn’t getting any cheaper, and restrictions during dry spells are becoming more common. Having your own water tank gives you a buffer. It lets you water your veggie patch without guilt, run your washing machine off rainwater, or even set your home up to run completely off-grid.
It’s also a great step if you’re thinking about being more self-sufficient or just want a bit of extra security if the water gets turned off unexpectedly.
Picking the Right Tank for Your Home
There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to tanks. Every home is different. Some have loads of roof space and yard area, while others need something narrow and neat. We work with you to figure out the best option, based on how much water you’ll collect and how you want to use it.
Here’s a quick look at the types of tanks we often install:
Poly tanks – Great all-rounders. Lightweight, durable, and available in all shapes and sizes. Perfect for most suburban homes.
Steel-liner tanks – Ideal if you’ve got more space or want something that can store a huge amount of water. Great for rural blocks and bushfire readiness.
Slimline tanks – Designed to fit down the side of your house or in tight spots. They look neat and come in colours that match your cladding or fence.
Underground tanks – Not as common, but great if you want your tank out of sight.
We’ll come to you, measure up, and give honest advice about what will work best. No pressure, no jargon, just the info you need to make a smart decision.
“Because we’re a multi-brand water tank supplier, we don’t push just one product. We help you compare what’s out there and pick what’s right for your home and your budget.”
Installation Done Right (The First Time)
Installing a tank is more than just sitting it on the ground and hooking up a hose. Our team takes care of the full water tank installation, including preparing the base, making sure it’s level, and connecting everything safely and neatly.
We can also help you set up:
A first-flush system to keep the cleanest water in your tank
Plumbing to toilets, washing machines or outdoor taps
Overflow systems that send excess rainwater into your garden
Firefighting outlets, if you live in a bushfire-prone area
We’re local, so we know the rules and what councils expect, and we’ll make sure your setup ticks all the boxes.

What About Rebates?
While there isn’t currently a state-wide rebate for residential tanks in Tasmania, some councils still offer incentives, or reduced permit fees if your tank is connected to a toilet or laundry. And if anything changes, we’ll be the first to let you know.
